Leaving Sacramento at the end of this month, so I gave myself the project of documenting the current sites of former Gay bars in the city. Here’s a 🧵 of a few of the places I made it to but as you can see from the map, there are many more. #QueerHistory #LBGTQHistory

The map highlights different queer businesses, including bookstores, cafes, and bars. I used this map, along with print advertisements, to find the current sites of former gay bars in Sacramento.

Advertisement for Crescent Moon, which describes the space as “A New Women’s Bar…” and promises live music every Thursday night.
