I'm looking at other Tenchi in Tokyo screencaps. Mihoshi is obsessed some kinda show called Space Police Policeman and buys all these figures for it. I just realized one of them is very clearly a Pikachu. Both this and the Pokemon anime debuted April 1st 1997 on the same channel, TXN/TV Tokyo.

Not only do I not want to fuck the Animal Crossing characters, I'd go as far as to say Animal Crossing is not good videos game. Any of them, especially your favorite one.

I realize this up there with "Disco Elysium, but cozy witches", but I sure could go for a game that had a Yharnam type city (densely packed, huge architecture, impossible layout) to explore without it being infested by Catholic werewolves and Eldritch spunk.
I feel like Tales of probably has one.
