🧗 Back at the Obed. Steady rain and thunder rolled in as we broke camp. Decided to have a cozy day beneath the roofs at Lilly Bluff rather than commit to the south Clear approach and pray for dry rock. Brought the stove and had some very good freeze dried bibimbap

Rocking Chair 5.9
Leading a sport route on blocky, brown sandstone. It begins at a low angle and gently curves up into a vertical section below a roof. It’s a cool, rainy day and I’m barefoot in pants and a hoodie
That would make it a secret, intense ordeal that boosts her confidence and independence without relying on Turner’s help or even validation

I dunno. Just seems like a huge missed opportunity to do something interesting with her “city slicker learns to ride horses and do wilderness stuff” arc
Untamed is good so far

(spoiler)

Turner saving Vasquez from the mine with a pep talk was super lame. She should have escaped on her own

Maybe she even escapes on her own, brings in the evidence, and suddenly decides to not even mention being trapped
The first 4 that come to mind *that haven’t already been said:

It Follows
The Thing
Blair Witch Project
The Witch
While you read this, keep in mind that we’re spending up to $300 million on nashville’s tesla tunnel, a project that will do little more than further enrich a billionaire who doesn’t even live here
I reject your premise that 14,000 dead civilians is in any way more defensible or less of a war crime than the commonly accepted number of 60,000
Even if we take your word for that and assume that’s true, it doesn’t justify genocide
Humans move, genocides happen, what can you do, oh well

🧗 Bad camera angle, but watch till the end to see my buddy’s reaction when he realizes how stupid my beta was

These Feel Just Like Your Sister’s V3
For what it’s worth, I’ve done this twice and it healed on its own both times. Took a couple months
A kid asked me why my bike is so big while we were waiting at a crosswalk

Buddy, I have the thighs of a water buffalo and the tibias of a etiolated giraffe

During puberty I had shin splints for 2 years straight

I’m lucky a local bike shop even had a contraption such as this
The only form of metagaming that’s always ok and funny to me in a TTRPG:

“Baldrick, I saw you take an arrow back there, how are you faring?”

“4”
Saturated! A classic but it does require 10 pounds of draws
I guessed V7. That first move looks stiff. Nice one!
I tried the boulder from the greatest bouldering video of all time

Dragon Lady V4
For a long time as a kid I assumed it was intentional and there was some deep philosophical distinction between “man” and “mankind” that I didn’t understand
I fully agree. Immigration is a good thing and we should support immigrants, especially those facing political persecution
A comic that’s just this panel 4 times, in increasing quality, and the last one is a baroque oil painting
Listen, there’s still a chance Bill Burr nudges my dad to the left of the democratic party. We just gotta ride this one out. We’re so close
Imagine if instead we spent a quarter billion on a high speed rail network between Nashville, Memphis, Chattanooga, and Knoxville. Or education. Or solar power. Or state parks. Or protecting the rivers. Or
For example, it says “in 2024, X number of accidents happened for Y type of climbing” for alpine, trad, and sport

But aren’t expert alpine climbers far more likely to report accidents to the AAC than, say, a novice sport climber?
These numbers seem low to me, so I looked it up and found that ANAC is a selection of the most “significant and teachable” accidents of the year, and only includes accidents that are submitted to the AAC

So maybe I’m missing something, but it seems like this article might be a little misleading
🧗 Everyone loves this boulder but a few things about it are underrated. The drum sounds it makes. The armchair geology in its comment section on mountain project
