I think the reasons why "retro" tech is popular is because it doesn't spy on you, you're not pressured to upgrade every year, it doesn't force shit don't want on you, you're not required to constantly update it, and its affordable.

As an aside, that's why I never cared for "company cars" as some sort of employment perk. All that eggshell-walking regarding proper use is a massive pain in the ass.

I would be a lot less pessimistic about the future of the US if we had a functioning opposition party, as opposed to the half-hearted glob of appeasing mush that is the Democrats.
