Community is often very fast and loud about their hate and criticism, but stays silent when it comes to positive feedback. A lot of people have the "if I have nothing bad to say about the product, I say nothing" approach.

It doesn't cost anything to be nice, but it will makes someone's day better.

Saying words of praise when you like something is so important and I can't stress it enough. If you like someone's work - tell them that.

"They know how much people love--" - chances are, they probably really don't, because more often than not social media in particular is full of negativity.

People think that if they "will bring back kink shaming" - it will stop existing. Which is wrong. Kink exists as long as humanity does
The only thing that will happen in a scenario where BDSM activities are stigmatized more than they already are is that people will partake in an even more unsafe way

Nabokov also was STRICTLY against using girls or anything related to romance for the book's cover, because he knew it will lead people to believe it's a romantic story.

Guess what can often be seen on covers for modern editions of the novel? Exactly what he was against.

The issue with Lolita misinterpretations is that half of the people who're speaking about the novel didn't actually read it and base their opinions on what they've been told by others people, who also didn't read the book and took info from someone else. Endless loop of broken info.

I was recently rereading @scarlettohairdye.bsky.social's "leave all your love and your longing behind" wangxian fic, which has banana bread mentioned so many times that I've decided to try it at least once. And I happened to have bananas in surplus at home, too.
