Quite a shocking story.
Get well soon Kevin.

I was unexpectedly admitted to hospital on Sunday 5th October where I remained until my discharge this afternoon.

Post Dragon's Back Race my foot was still swollen and sore.

I was diagnosed with a DVT on Friday morning.

I've documented my experience in a blog.

A canulated right arm. Bare feet. The left is a normal pale skin color. The right is slightly swollen and very red and sore. Bare feet. Both slightly swollen but the right is also red, sore and much more swollen. Me, in my hospital bed, in the corridor.

Hill Reps session: I love a saw-tooth profile!

14 x 2 minute efforts with jog down recoveries.
Note how heart rate creeps up throughout the session.
The first rep was an easier effort and I re-tied my lace after the second rep.
I deliberately took less recovery on the final 4 reps.
Chart showing heart rate (red) and elevation (grey) for a hill rep running session.

Lovely morning for a run

A white trig point catching the sun. Grassy foreground with moorland stretching into the distance. Blue sky with a little high cloud towards the horizon.

The Instinct XX20 Backpack.
I've used it for both trail running and ultralight camping / fastpacking. It has loads of storage options, but does it risk being over complicated?
What do you think?

I like effluent - not normally used in that context 👍
Also noting photo location to the W of the summit 🌟
Also Rossetti Pike - very Italian! 😀

Don't wear it unless you need to. A windproof will often suffice.
If you do wear it try to avoid wearing a backpack / race vest over the top - this reduces the wear and loss of waterproofing on the shoulders.

Today's lunch stop. Just enough room under my DD Hammocks Superlight S tarp to shelter from the rain.

Prizes for Patrons!
Next week's spot prize is a Sunblesa H11 head torch. Not really bright enough for fell running but great for camping and as a backup and emergency torch. I always carry one in my first aid kit.

Same tent, same torch but using different settings.

Cheers, thanks for watching.
Yes especially with fell running shoes that don't get used on particularly hard surfaces. Non linear decrease makes sense.

For me it's caused by not slackening the laces enough when I put them on / off! If it was from wear whilst running I'd have scars on my achilles.

You don't always need to stick to the plan! Garmin doesn't know how you are feeling.
