After 15 years of extremely reliable and faithful service, my xDSL service was finally shut down permanently at the turn of the month as the operator scrapped the remaining copper services in the region, it was running up until the final moment. Good bye and good night for it.

Over the years I've seen plenty of debate over nohello.net aka whether "Hi" or "Hello" is a permissible conversation opener online - but these days there's a much more pressing reason to avoid simple or generic greetings, which is scammers and AI bots doing just that when they start off discussions.

Since I've been heavily inspired by Tom Fischbach's Twokinds recently, I came up with an OC for a futuristic #Twokinds AU - captain Rauru, a heavily cyborgized and altered Keidran "anti-human" operative who ends up with serious regrets and decides to try to make amends after the end of a major war.

Took my summer car out of winter storage again, did an oil change and few filter changes to it and swapped away from my Volvo XC70 Mk2 for a while!
