The Abbotsford Disaster Relief Fund is open again to donations.

Funds will be granted to organizations supporting flood-impacted Abbotsford residents. Resources are limited, and needs are expected to be significant, especially close to the holidays.

The Abbotsford Disaster Relief Fund has been reactivated as of Dec. 11, 2025, in response to growing flood risk.

The fund supports Abbotsford residents impacted by flooding and helps meet critical needs during recovery and rebuilding.

Lone-parent families in B.C. face nearly five times the poverty risk of couple families. In 2023, 45.1% of children in lone-parent households lived in poverty. Inequality is stark: the highest-earning 10% of lone-parent families made 86 times more than those with the lowest incomes.

BC’s child poverty rate stayed at 16.7% in 2023, but the depth of poverty worsened. Families are falling further below the poverty line and losing ground as housing, food and essentials become increasingly out of reach.
