🧶 I’m a UK knitwear designer and I’ve been a tech editor and grader for 12 years. I used to work on knit magazines but now I’m freelance and loving it! For my knitting patterns & more info see fayeperriamreed.com 🌈🪴🧦🧤🧣 💌 fayeperriamreed.com/newsletter

I’ve been writing up this scarflette pattern recently and it’s almost ready for testing! DM me if you’re interested.

The yarn is Blacker Yarns Tamar 4ply and it is so snuggly. The weather seems to have taken a turn here in the last few days and suddenly all the hats and jumpers are coming out! 🧶🧶
Just popping up this lovely review from Sheila Toy Stromberg who I have recently had the pleasure of working with. Her designs are so well thought out and so much fun to work on! Please check her out! 🧶

Last week I knitted my Ayr hat in @bluebellyarns Bluefaced Leicester, Shetland & Alpaca DK in British Bluebell. I’ll be releasing this pattern very soon as a PDF download so watch this space!

I’m reknitting one of my hat designs, but the tension isn’t really working at the moment, so I may end up designing a new one 😅
I have delicious new yarn to try out this week from @bluebellyarns.co.uk 💜 This is British Bluebell, 40% BFL, 40% Shetland Wool, 20% Alpaca.
The colour is even more beautiful in real life 😍

A spot of car knitting on the way to a wedding 😅 This pattern is mindless enough to do on the road with just a weeny detail to keep it interesting! I’m hoping to release the pattern before Christmas 🤞

It’s nice as it’s pretty mindless but enough to keep your brain a bit more stimulated! And a nice effect I think when finished 😊
Hi, thanks! It didn’t change it at all for the smallest size. It’s only a tiny repeat so you could easily fit it in and wiggle the underarm cast on to fit it when you come to working the body in the round. After the cast on it doesn’t matter so much as the front and back sts are increasing anyway
Here’s a sweet little Flax sweater I made for a very new person last week! I forgot how teeny newborns are until I got a cuddle yesterday!
I added on a little Cornish gansey stitch on the front and back to make it more interesting and I love how it came out with the garter on the sleeves ❤️
Lovely quote this week from Anna at Rowan regarding my tech editing services ❤️

I’m currently taking on new clients so if you are looking for someone to tech edit or grade your knitting pattern, get in touch! You can find more info on my website fayeperriamreed.com

Here's a free tutorial showing you how to work out yarn weight. I'll explain yarn weight and why it matters in your knitting or crochet project! 🧶

I literally just changed from this to the Payhip cart yesterday! I’ll see how it goes.. thanks for the warning about the theme update 🤞
Oh that’s so annoying! I’ve booked a chat with a VAT person as this is all way over my head!
Yes that’s the one! Seems to do the job for now but I’d love something a bit more slick 😅
I hadn’t seen this, thanks for the link! I have most of my patterns on there but it is a faff and I don’t make so many sales from them
@kathandrews.bsky.social I’m looking into a woocommerce plugin that might help but I know there are designers out there that offer e-commerce. Maybe I just need to be VAT registered.. I will keep asking and keep you posted!
You can set up a Payhip cart on your website which is the closest thing I can find at the moment to keeping people there rather than sending elsewhere. I have Lovecrafts too but I find their fees too high and you cant view any stats about your sales/where people have come from etc..
#knitweardesigners in the UK - how do you manage e-commerce on your website with EU VAT laws? I’m in the process of updating my website & I would love to have a proper cart rather than directing people to Ravelry and Payhip. Thanks!

Here’s a snap from my stand at The Big Flock - more on this later!
Aw thanks! I’m a bit particular about crowns so I wrote the decreases into the lace pattern 😅 So they might be a bit less uniform than some hat patterns
My favourite grey hat - it goes with everything, it’s super lightweight and can fit easily in my pocket! Knit using Bam-boozle from Blacker Yarns
