i have had 3 paychecks bounce and charge me the entire check amount. i have not been compensated for this in any way and have lost over $600 in the past month due to the shop owner's negligence.

Maybe I'm weird for this but I've personally grown tired of entertaining the idea that engaging with and creating taboo art automatically makes you a dangerous person. Making that argument in spaces like these just feels like throwing stones in glass houses, not to mention that this is probably the worst time to even do so if you've seen what's been going on with payment processors, TOS's and such. So many of us draw fictional cartoon animals getting their rocks off in some of the most unconventional ways that would make someone in the 14th century combust. I'm no expert but if you ask me, a key reason that any abuse happens in relation to that art is not primarily because of the art itself, but the lack of self control and discipline, which of course isn't exclusive to anything. Everyone should know how to engage with media, taboo or not, without endangering another person or creature, and the idea that it's somehow impossible with certain kinds of taboo media sounds really reductive. The fact that victims of CSA and such are fighting each other about it is actually really depressing to witness. Everyone's experiences are different and there's no universal way to process all trauma as far as im aware of. I don't have all the answers but my philosophy will remain as such: like what you like, be a freak, be responsible, don't get anyone or anything hurt, everyone's happy. I'm not here to waste anymore time and energy casting judgement on people I don't know just because of my own icks. If I don't like something, I just mute and move onβ€”it's less stressful that way.
