they are so rare! i count myself very lucky to have a handful of people who’ve managed to sort of “grow up” with me over the last 5-10 (some longer) years of my life, but finding/making new connections always seems like such a challenge. i am entirely grateful to feel understood and not alone tho 💜🫂

of someone’s universe to matter to them at all. ease back, stop assuming the worst in others or defining them by some unreasonable expectation. because trust me, someone finding the time out of their busy day to day, and beyond their personal anxieties, to connect.. should mean something.

i get a lot of this community isn’t seeking genuine connection, so maybe that’s the disconnect. but adult friendships require A LOT of grace. people have entire lives outside of this game/hobby, and deserve kindness and understanding in that. maturing is recognizing you don’t have to be the center…

so it sucks when i take time away from other things in my life, other hobbies or friends, and try to spend it meeting new people/making new connections, and i’m “too quiet” or “don’t reply fast enough” and it suddenly means i’m unworthy of being friends with at all?

when i have free time or energy, i usually try to spend it with the friends i’m closest to. people i’ve known for years! which is usually just my weekends. beyond that, i’m pretty outspoken of being diagnosed BPD & autistic, meaning I tend to be more anxious/quiet when engaging with newer folks..

it’s really hard for me to make friends in this community anymore and it honestly sucks. my job demands a lot of me (been pulling OT for months now), also putting work into myself with therapy and a personal trainer, take care of my niece, and spend most of my downtime prepping for all of it..
