This regime cannot pretend to stand for "religious freedom" while persecuting those who try to follow Jesus by challenging harm and oppression.

Let's speak out as Christians and show solidarity with the faith leaders who are bravely taking on Trump's authoritarian ICE forces. Sign now:
SIGN: We stand with Chicago clergy resisting ICE
Once again, Christian clergy and lay leaders are showing moral leadership by resisting Trump's cruel attacks on immigrants and people of color. ICE and its allies are attacking them for it.

“Religion and faith should never be enforced by a nation’s government, and there are endless historic (and present) examples of how such enforcement goes awry." -Rev. Dr. Shannon Fleck in a new report from @americanprogress.bsky.social.
This past term, the Supreme Court undermined one of the most sacred tenets of American democracy—the separation of church and state. Recent rulings have created a system where religion and government are not separate, but instead increasingly intertwined. www.americanprogress.org/article/how-...
How the Supreme Court Is Dismantling the Separation of Church and State
Chief Justice John Roberts’ court is actively eroding the separation of church and state, breaking with centuries of First Amendment jurisprudence.

Tonight, we pray for Kirk’s loved ones as they navigate this horrible loss and we remain emphatic that gun violence in the United States must be addressed before it senselessly takes even more lives.
We must uproot the spirit of fear and hatred that has divided this country and make weapons of war less accessible, or we fear such evil acts will continue to occur.
At this frightening moment, it is incumbent upon all of us as Americans to begin a journey of healing in which we err on the side of peace, not violence, and in which we choose love instead of hate.
There is no scenario in which an action like this should be considered acceptable. Each individual has the right to freedom of thought and belief in this country, and that freedom must be able to be exercised without fearing danger or loss of life.
At Faithful America, we are horrified and deeply disturbed by the tragic killing of Charlie Kirk. While we disagreed with Kirk on many things, as Christians who follow the Prince of Peace we fully and unequivocally reject all acts of violence, political or otherwise.
And just a reminder: Prayers DO matter. But they don't exist in a vacuum. We pray for peace and safety in our communities. But our Christian faith also requires us to take action to make those conditions possible -- including making it harder for people to use weapons of war to murder our neighbors.
As we await more details on the tragic shooting in Minnesota, we hold ourselves in fervent hope for the quick recovery of those injured and immense sadness for the lives lost. May God bring a steady hand for the families finding themselves navigating tragedy at this time.

Reminder: The United States is a religious freedom nation.

We can’t and won’t be told by the government how to pray.
A word of warning from Rev. Dr. Shannon Fleck. If your congregation or church body uses federal dollars, there's a new caveat from the Trump administration. You can read more here: dianabutlerbass.substack.com/p/religion-i...

Archbishop Weisenburger: "Immigrants and migrants are a suffering people, and because we recognize Christ and the dignity of our God in every human being, our goal today is to give a voice to those who have no voice."
Inspired by Pope Leo and moved to defy the Trump immigration crackdown, Detroit’s Archbishop Edward Weisenburger led a procession of 250 clergy and lay faithful to the ICE regional field office.

“The vast majority of undocumented immigrants are forced into their situation," Weisenburger said.
