#Weretober day 14: Wooly Rhino

If it had been a sabretooth tiger, I would have called it the Venus of sMilodon
I'm happy to be of help! It took a while for me to find the fineliners which felt good in my hand, but I'm very happy with these ones.
You could try also using some sort of lightbox for the inking; I use it for commission work, but it doesn't work well with thick paper (so I'm not 100% sold on it)
(Agh, the comments are in a weird order. Sorry!)
For posing and choosing subjects, I don't really have much of a process. Mostly, I scroll photos of the animal online and see what inspires me. I'm trying to alternate drawing masculine and feminine bodies and different body types. For practise!
I use thick paper (160gsm) because I like the feel of it, and takes better to being erased a lot. After I erase the pencils, I get a feel whether there are areas that feel empty or flat and add some more hatching/darken the hatching using the finest fineliner.
Aw, thank you!
My process is fairly simple, I think? Mechanical pencil sketch, fairly rough and "dirty", ink straight on top of it.
I use a Pentel fude pen for the main brush strokes and UniPin fineliners for details and hatching (brushpoint, 0.1, 0.05 and 0.03). Then I erase the pencil
Bad end Silas (the character) really likes his bling. I feel like it would be mega uncomfortable tho, wouldn't it catch everywhere?

I was so excited by this prompt, but sort of rushed it and couldn't quite get the effect I was going for u_u
They do, I don't feel like I did it justice, I was just googling photos of them and get a bit creeped out!

#weretober day 6: Carnivorous Unicorn
#Weretober day 5: Flying fox
#weretober day 2: Gnoll

My worktable lamp died while I was drawing this T_T
I'm not sure I'll manage to do Weretober this year, but at least I'll fail trying!

(I am already so far behind!)
I saw a video of somebody's crazy, exercise laden, morning routine and was aghast. The only thing I exercise in my morning routine is nihilism.

Oh, nice! Big machinery must have a kind of slow, mastodon grace of long-extinct animals. I often think, when watching the excavator strip topsoil, that it looks like an apatosaurus or something the like
