There's a bunch of smaller communities that broadly overlap cause that's just how fandoms work

I think once you can internalize this, it's such a freeing realization. It's not your job to please any one specific person or group, and you can find community from being unashamedly about what you're into. You don't have to cling to people who want to stuff you into a box that you don't fit into.
Don't get me wrong, you can curate spaces, make groups, make group rules, website rules, etc.
But your group is not the official stance of anything. There is no objective stance of what does or doesn't belong in a particular niche of a fandom cause that niche is made of people with differing ideas

I think once you can internalize this, it's such a freeing realization. It's not your job to please any one specific person or group, and you can find community from being unashamedly about what you're into. You don't have to cling to people who want to stuff you into a box that you don't fit into.

Say what you will about the model train industry - there are reasonable criticisms sure - but at least when I spend money on this hobby I receive tangible goods that I own. And the way that companies get more of my money is by making actually new and/or better products. >x>

Correction, 5 kinds: "Small Silky" is actually two different tags, one with a bear (as Large Silky) and one with a simpler icon of a button. I suspect that this may also represent the 18"/16" transition?
Thus far I've identified at least 4 distinct tags, listed I believe from oldest to newest:
* Large silky (probably the original?)
* Small silky
* Early papery (St. Louis and Windsor addresses)
* Later papery (St. Louis (but different), Slough, and Dublin addresses, possibly post-Brexit?)
