Another critical moment for the assisted dying bill, the most intensely scrutinised legislation this Parliament has ever seen. What's clear is the status quo is unworkable. It leads to unnecessary suffering, painful suicides, and people forced to flee their country for control over their deaths.
Assisted Dying Bill ‘most intensely scrutinised legislation’ – Select Committee begins

There seems to be very little in terms of media coverage of their particular struggle that's quite complicated because of bigotry on the ground.

maybe you know someone to look into this and spread some awareness? More info at @girlpowers.bsky.social
Do I know anyone (who knows anyone) who writes for a big press outlet on LBGTQIA human rights issues, especially worldwide? I'm trying to draw attention to the plight of a group of people in South Sudan who are facing grave danger and additional barriers to aid because of their identity.

Last weekend, around seven million Americans joined the nationwide “No Kings” protests, calling out Trump.

Why does this matter for Scotland? Because US-style Christian nationalism is creeping into our country too, and we all have a duty to call it out. Here are some of our favourite No Kings signs

As an old (but not conservative) person, I totally endorse this. Despite everything, if the Conolly vote does not come out, Humphries will win. So get out there and keep encouraging others to. The "she has it in the bag" narrative is designed to make Connolly voters stay home. Don't fall for it.
With 72 hours to go until #Aras25 polling opens, a reminder - old, conservative people vote.
If you want something different to what they want, you need to do the same, and tell everyone you know to do it too.
Make a plan to vote.
Make sure others do too.
Then go vote.
Nothing else matters.

The hematologist Oswald H. Robertson pioneered the idea of "blood banks" in WWI by packing glass jars of citrated blood from universal donors in an ice-filled chest that he had constructed from ammunition cases. He convinced countless others to donate blood during the war.

As a scientist with three biology degrees from a top 50 global university & a post grad in statistics, I approve this message as factual. Love this T - T as in the truth. Sex is a continuum or spectrum, not binary. We need to challenge the Eugenicists every time.

AI regurgitation is the new smoking
That headline reads like Simon Harris is attacking the flotilla...
Apropos of hearing PhD students casually referring to using Ai to "brainstorm" or to do copy editing. You are killing your brain. Copy editing is an exercise. It makes you a better writer and a better thinker. And don't get me started on 'brainstorming with Ai'...🤦‍♀️

What Happens After A.I. Destroys College Writing?
The demise of the English paper will end a long intellectual tradition, but it’s also an opportunity to reëxamine the purpose of higher education.

Any journalist who signs is no longer a serious journalist. "Access" isn't everything.
