Another excellent read from the Railway Detective Series!

Enjoyed the last few chapters while enjoying a few beers in the local pub!
A book that says “Murder on the Great Northern Railway” next to a half drank pint of lager!

‪Well done to everyone who got it correct… it is indeed Clarbeston Road in Pembrokeshire!‬

‪Will make next weeks a little bit tougher 😝‬

It’s been a while since we did a #Guessthestation

So come on then… Which TfW station is this???

My last calling point for today is Ribblehead!

It don’t get much better than Ribblehead viaduct at sunset 😍

Can be very tiring sometimes. Haven’t had a journey go to plan for a long time and that’s quite exhausting.

Todays been good though

Today I’ve had a bit of a day out with no plan…

Started with walk from Arnside to Silverdale. Then headed to Carnforth and onto the S&C!

Today was about trying to rediscover the fun of travelling by train!

It’s not all doom and gloom in the north…

There are some nice shiny new(ish) trains to travel on!

Honestly… supporting local businesses isn’t as difficult as you might think…

Also bravo to apple auto correct… it corrected every single word to be near enough correct despite me typing them all incorrectly 😭😂😂😂😂

Another week is underway…

2025 seems to be zooming by! Scary to think it’s now only 79 days until Christmas 🤯🎄

Pringles are ok to be honest. As long as not the salt & vinegar. They awful

yh they can be found down south... But not like in every shop like they are up here. In my experience places like B&M sell them in the south, but finding them in corner shops or supermarkets is rare.

Couple of places compared to everywhere is very different.

Shout out to the two websites that made #LEJOGbyBus so easy to plan & log:

bustimes.org - every single bus timetable in the UK & Ireland in one place! Also includes live tracking!

busmiles.uk - log journeys for mileage, maps, service info & more!

Was on Kendal town service today which has only had a Sunday service for a couple of years. Started off slow passenger number wise. But of late it is becoming very well used which is rather good as people in Kendal are well aware of the 'use it or loose it' phrase!

It’s worth noting the staff was brilliant today! Doing everything they could to get passengers on the move.

Special mention to the staff on board the 1240 Avanti West Coast service from GLC to OXN who was great with announcements and trying to get as many bums on seats as poss!

Today I travelled home from Glasgow. #StormAmy indeed made this a bit challenging to say the least!

I was thinking: Should the rail industry be more resilient to weather related issues now?

Obviously safety is key, but is there a way to be safe, but keep the trains running?

Possibly the most forgotten viaduct in England…

Calstock viaduct is amazing and definitely worth a visit!

This weekend I met up with @everylaststation.bsky.social and @jacktravels.co.uk in Cumbria and firstly we visited Wetheral Caves
everylaststation.bsky.social
Went for a walk yesterday with some friends around Wetheral. Didn’t really take many photos as was just having a laugh with friends.

Definitely made the time to take a photo of the Wetheral viaduct. Even if the sun position wasn’t allowing the best light for the shot!

Massive thanks to @geofftech.bsky.social for designing this epic map of the journey! Definitly going to be getting one of these printed for my home!
