It is confirmed, Washington state has the first human avian influenza case in the US since February. It is the first known human case of the H5N5 strain, all previous cases have been H5N1. Encourage your governments to support public health to prevent more cases. www.cidrap.umn.edu/avian-influe...

Ethiopia has confirmed an outbreak of Marburg for the first time. Marburg is a disease similar to Ebola that kills about 50% of the cases. At least 9 cases have been identified so far. Ethiopian authorities have responded quickly to contain the outbreak. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/n...

In the past month, there have been 66 poultry flocks in the US hit by bird flu causing the death of 3.5 million birds. This may lead to higher food costs and more human cases. The US government has scaled back the FDA and CDC hurting their ability to respond effectively. www.npr.org/sections/sho...
