Pros of being a writer: you can imagine the most beautiful, fantastic worlds with a fresh perspective, where everything is possible, inhabited by creatures you'd want to stay with forever.

The best advice I've ever got is to write a mantra on a piece of paper, pin it to the wall, and whenever in stress, fear, or doubt, read it until it gets under the skin and clean all that shit out of the system. The mantra:

NOTHING IS
