The current €1.1 billion PEACEPLUS programme runs from 2021-2027, and is funding regional development projects across a diverse range of investment areas, including skills, education, transport, and socio-economic regeneration.
The Centre showcases the transformative and long-lasting impact of strategic investment under the successive PEACE programmes, which are delivered under the remit of DPER.
This €8.4 million purpose-built cross-community shared space was built on a former interface site in west Belfast between the Shankill and Falls Roads and opened in 2024.
The Shankill Shared Women’s Centre, funded under the 2014-2020 PEACE IV programme, has been shortlisted for the European Commission’s REGIOSTARS Public Choice Award.
