Apologies that the scheduling of episodes has been erratic of late (I recently moved flats).

To try and make amends, here's an episode I recorded on the 'Scottie's Nightmare' sequence from Vertigo.

31: #taskmaster series 20 was a triumph! This was chiefly down to two things: 1) some of the best tasks in years and 2) the comic tour de force performance from Maisie Adams.

Like the guy in Hostel eating a salad without cutlery

He was drinking it and then used a finger to finish up the remains. Licking it clean afterwards.

Watching a man on a train eat a yogurt with his finger instead of a spoon 🤢

30: #celebritytraitors was a joy from start to finish. So, so much fun to watch, be it Tom's eye-roll, Celia's fart, Alan's bumbag.

You forget how great it is to have a watercooler show that you can all talk about at work or spend the finale Whatsapping back and forth with a friend on.

Another batch of first-time watches, a weird mix of stuff.

If you’d asked me a week ago I’d’ve said ‘of course I’ve seen The Wizard of Oz’ but sitting there watching it in the BFI it hit me that I must’ve just seen loads of clips of it over the years.

Another of the threads from retro film podcast Easy Riders Raging Podcast, this one is our four episode run on the work of Billy Wilder.

Yet another thread I must return to in the near future.

More from the back catalogue of my retro film podcast, Easy Riders Raging Podcast. Here’s our Chuck Jones coverage, which was a joy to record.

If we don't do more Jones episodes in the future I'd be amazed.

Continuing to look through the back catalogue of Easy Riders Raging Podcasts and here's our nine episode run on Stanley Kubrick.

I must pick this back up soon as I'm keen to get a complete set of the director's work on the show.

Happy Saturday everyone! These were my favourite watches/rewatches for September and October.

(FYI - I was rewatching the Untitled cut of Almost Famous, which remains absolutely perfect)

29: It's probably not #slowhorses best year, but with season five the show remains (for my money) the best show on the air.

Excellent use of Christopher Chung as Roddy Ho this year, as well as Battlestar Galactica alum, James Callis as Claude Whelan.

Can't wait for series six.

For me, the first three albums are the good shit, after that all the albums have a couple of tracks I really like but a lot of tracks that really haven't stuck with me.
October 30, 2025 at 1:35 PM
I don’t mind it as an acoustic song, actually.
October 30, 2025 at 9:00 AM
I like a lot of songs by the Foo Fighters but I don’t think I’ve ever liked ‘Times Like These’.

Drank wine, watched a drag performance of Once More With Feeing and ate a big bag of Monster Munch on the tube back to West London.

Folks, it doesn’t get much better than this x

the ending of THE GODFATHER, the best american movie ever made, doesn't work without diane keaton's final look --- at the realization of who she's married and what her life is going to become and what corruption lurks behind closed doors. unforgettable, inimitable work. RIP.
