It’s a mistake to keep this as an internal-only release. It’s a mistake to limit this to just Gemini.

Apple’s ‘Veritas’ chatbot is reportedly an employee-only test of Siri’s AI upgrades
There’s no plans for a public release of Apple’s internal Veritas chatbot and will likely lean on Google’s Gemini for Siri’s AI-powered search.

Gz Extract with Power Automate
For the longest time I've been looking for an automated way to extract DMARC reports, which come in gz format, within our Microsoft infrastructure. Power Automate does a nice job of grabbing the files and putting them in various places. The blocker in this was that Microsoft Power Automate does not have a step for extracting gz files, so I still had a manual step that was tied to a script running on a certain workstation.

Lattice and Scaffold: Why Humanity’s Future Depends on What We Are Choosing to Skip Today
There’s a quiet fear humming beneath the surface of our technological optimism, fueled by ideas like AI-2027. It’s not the fear of machines rising up, or even the economic upheaval of automation. It’s deeper. More architectural. It’s the fear that the lattice we climb—the slow, layered, generational structure of knowledge and competence—is being bypassed. And when that happens, something eventually collapses.

Stories and Starships
I've been reading Harari's Nexus and am impressed by his exploration of how various societies, political systems, and factions manipulate the complex relationship between information, truth, and power to their advantage. He illustrates this most effectively when these elements are woven into an attractive narrative. This deep dive explains not only why we find ourselves where we are today but also why we have fallen short of our aspirations.

Iran had nuclear ambitions but couldn’t protect themselves conventionally. They were producing nuclear weapons that would fall into the hands of Hamas, Hezbollah, or the Islamic State during a coup. That is the existential threat that Israel was facing.

npx shokk

A few weeks back, the TLDR newsletter had an article about an npx business card and as I've been on a kick with business links lately ( I thought it would be an interesting read. So I quickly clicked it and then promptly ignored it in my iPhone Edge tabs for about a month, as I often do.

Stephen Miller’s brand of “love of country” is just as good for use as paving stones on the road to hell. No different than Joseph Goebbels’ love of country.

AI and Social Media: A Dangerous Symbiosis
Social Media and it’s attributes, surrounding an AI core Artificial Intelligence (AI) is poised to embed itself more deeply within social media ecosystems, creating unprecedented opportunities and significant risks. Social networks, once limited to human connection and content sharing, are now becoming prime real estate for AI proliferation. This evolution is fueled by advancements in data processing and contextual understanding, combined with the vast social graphs that platforms like Facebook, Twitter (now X), Instagram, and emerging networks offer.

Why People Are Leaving Social Media Algorithms for Email Newsletters and RSS In the early 2010s, social media was heralded as the future of information sharing—a real-time, personalized feed of news, ideas, and conversations. Platforms like Facebook, Twitter (now X), and Instagram promised a more democratic internet, where content from friends, journalists, and thought leaders would flow seamlessly into your timeline.
