For BATB: Annette is a beauty who becomes a beast. Even when she's in human form, there's still an Edge to her, and people say her eyes are less human.

For my BATB story, I'd say the quote that makes me think of it is "Every rose has its thorns", because that's a big message in the story, where the MC finds out that the world isn't as pretty as people want it to be, and that you have to take the good with the bad.
