One of the best parts of vacationing somewhere new is opening up my Merlin app and finding out what birds are in the area.

There is currently an absolute conference of boat-tailed grackles on the roof of the dock behind our Airbnb. I'm in HEAVEN 😍

Welp. We made it 😰 but with exactly zero naps so far for the baby, whom we awoke at 4:50am for this trip. There was weeping and gnashing of teeth, but after a while Aaron calmed down and we made it to Orlando. 😉

It's a terrible feeling. There's so much internal work required when your kids are In Public, but if you have one who sometimes acts in ways that seem spoiled or "naughty" (my personal expertise is navigating SPD meltdowns when my daughter was much younger) - you FEEL those eyes on you & kiddo.

This was so informative and you write about what you faced with far more grace and charity than deserved. I am sick to death of smug jerks who do things like publicly gossip about ways they've seen Other People's Kids behave. It's so unhelpful and you cannot know the full story from just watching. 😤

Made it out of the house fully packed and with the 16m old bang-on 5am and we are still married AND having a lighthearted conversation on the way to the airport. Go Team Tinsman! ("Team Tinsman" used here to mean the adults + Toddler Bean, this would be a very different post were it the full clan)
