Could it be your facial blindness?

My spouse gets confused when a hairstyle changes, because she relies on hair for her facial blindness. So her recognition of what is, or is not, "real" hair might be very different to her.

But if you're not backing up your shit, regardless of what platform, site, OS, computer model, browser, whatever you use...

It falls flat. YOU HAD THE TIME AND OPPORTUNITY. You didn't use it, now this.

All I hope is that people only make that mistake once.

I saw something similar not too long ago. MTV was like "hey, we're shutting down these articles". A year passes, they shut down the articles, and people come out of the woodwork like "ALL MY WORK IS GONE!!"

Like, I'm not going to victim blame when it comes to large corpos being dogshit.

Not specifically.

But my cat seems to know which of my pants are thinner, so when her claws are nice and sharp, she becomes a lap cat.

In the '90s, "'Nature's Labubu': why are gen Z 'unboxing' conkers?" would be a prime "grandpa's having a stroke" sentence.

I still think the best description of writers vs non-writers is:

Writers write. Other people want to have written.

It's the dream of having an oeuvre, without having to work for it.

"What do R voter parents do now?"

From an empathetic POV, I would say they need to re-evaluate their lives because they literally voted for this. I would also say they should reach out to non R voters, because we've actually been through this before.

... but what they actually do is not up to me.

There's a blessing/curse nature to having a really good memory.

Like, sure, it's nice I remember your birthday and can text you without a FB reminder. But I also remember that time in 6th grade I let the intrusive thought win.

Anyway, guitarist here, and I like "Every Good Boy Dies First".

I feel that.

I once told a joke to a guy in person, and the joke crashed hard. I came up to him the next week, and apologized for making him uncomfortable, and he was like "it's all good, I wasn't in tune with your sense of humor at the time".

Online, communication like that can be... difficult.

Reminds me of the "condom in LA pornos" discourse.

So, if someone introduces sex into a non-sex thing they're doing (writing, media, talking, whatever), all of a sudden they're JUST SEX, nothing else. You like the sex? Then how dare you have an opinion on anything that's not JUST YOU DOING THE SEX.

It's a form of oppression that is quite bad.

"We have a terrible habit"

We do.

There are so many things wrong with how America treats sex, but I'll just comment on one, in line with your posts.

Sex is always treated as an entirely different thing. You're taught that your sexual self, and your other self, are always to be kept separate.

I think this is a very solid range.

Especially if you look at "old internet". There's, IMHO, a solid difference between '90s internet, and pre-YouTube '00s internet.

Yes, and it's quite nice.

Anyway, leave it to Jenny to say it best:

There is something to be said about this being taken out of context.

On the one hand, we all feel like Norton, re: Leto.

On the other hand, this is what Leto feels about movies.

Chris Pratt is today's second best voice talent (behind Seth Rogan). I loved Lego, where Chris Pratt plays "Chris Pratt". Or Garfield, where he plays "Chris Pratt". Or Mario, where he plays "Chris Pratt".

Far more nuanced than his live action roles, where he only plays "Chris Pratt".

"Tickets are vanishing!"

WHY ISN'T ANYONE FIGURING OUT WHY THEY'RE VANISHING INSTEAD OF BEING SOLD!? WHERE'S COLUMBO!? HIS DAY WAS THIS PAST MONDAY!

Rachel,

I realize this is hard to hear but, you're not capable of making that determination. And if we pretend for a moment you are, you don't know enough people to draw any proper conclusions.

But hey, be part of the problem and make your numbers, booboo.

I grew up pre-internet. All of us knew those dipshits (you're allowed to say dipshit here).

What Twitter taught us, was that being a dipshit could be a lucrative job on Twitter. You could make a lot of money being a "Twitter famous" dipshit.
erichwanh.bsky.social
At a particular size, all fandoms experience this.

I once got a fake one of Tim Reynolds, "Tim Reynold". Like, the singular version I guess. People all up in the page like "yur my faverite!!"

FB determined that it "shouldn't be removed", when I reported it. "Scam economy", "dead world", same dif.

Excuse my tone, it's not directed at you personally:

THIS IS WHY IT'S BEING PUSHED TO FUCKING EVERYONE EVERYWHERE

Addictive? No benefits? Lucrative money printing for the first years? Of course they'll force it down your throat. Like Battle Royals, Microtransactions, or NFTs.
