#WIPWednesday : I haven’t felt much like knitting this past week, but I am closing in on the end of this slipover. Pattern details in the alt text. #Knitting #Knitsky 🧶
#WIPWednesday : still working on the slipcover. I had to rip back the I underarm increases a few times, which means I will not finish before the 31 Oct #OctobervestMAL deadline. #Knitsky #Knitting 🧶
I miss message boards for discussing TV shows (I spent my time on Television Without Pity). YouTube and social media reactions just aren’t the same.

I understand why they had to stop him but I don’t agree with imprisoning him in the phantom zone
I populated the alt text but didn’t put anything in the post. This was last night’s #WIPWednesday entry. I finished the front of my Biscuit slipover and started the back. #KnitSky 🧶
A day late for #SundaysAreForSpinning . I brought fiber and am espinner with me on our MEA weekend roadtrip, but didn’t do any spinning while traveling. I did spin up the last bobbin of these singles when we got back yesterday. #Handspinning 🧶
That was exactly what was going through my head when I saw the headline.
#WIPWednesday : Last night, I had reached the neckline shaping on the front of this slipover. But then I noticed a mistake several rows down. I tried to ladder down to fix it, but it was easier just to front it. #Knitting #KnitSky 🧶
In short, one can be attractive and still be pathetic and evil. To quote Okkervil River, “Looking for evil, thinking they can trace it, but/
Evil don't look like anything”
It was similar to what Antony Starr (another handsome man playing an absolute shitty character) does, where you can see the light go out behind his eyes and the pasted on smile. Absolutely terrifying.
What, that you can’t be a villain and be attractive? That’s bullshit. I thought Egerton did a great job in the role—I loathed him. I had to be in the right mindset to watch episodes, because he disgusted me so much
But considering they gave Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, another objectively handsome man, some sort of prosthesis to turn him into a literal mouth-breather, it sends an unfortunate message
The twist that Dave Gudsen was a heftier, schubbiet guy, rather than the slinger and handsome Taron Egerton was dumb. I mean, I get that they were trying to show how Gudsen was fantasizing that he was better looking and “more masculine”
We finished the Apple TV series “Smoke” last night. And I have thoughts on the ending. Spoilers ahead…
#SundaysAreForSpinning and I’ve had more interest/motivation in spinning than I have in a while. I spun up 2 bobbins of singles, skeined and washed last week’s yarn, and started a new carding project. #Handspinning 🧶
I heard no opinion from him. Thanks for the compliment!
I forgot to post for yesterday’s #WIPWednesday. I’ve spent most of my time working on the slipover—I should be close to starting the neckline shaping. I’ve slowed on the blue top—I should try it on to see if I want to add waist shaping. Patterns and yarns in alt text. #Knitsky #Knitting 🧶
#SundaysAreForSpinning : I finished my first #Handspinning project in a whole. Rambouillet naturally dyed by @petalandhank.bsky.social in two different shades of purple. Spun separately and then plied together. #HandspunYarn 🧶
This afternoon we learned that our oldest put a carton of choc. milk in his backpack (maybe on Thursday?), and that it leaked all over the contents of his backpack. The fact that the dog kept sniffing and licking the bag should’ve tipped us off sooner. At least the electronics were ok.
I did, only because 1) my dad is from Richland County 2) he has an interest in geology (he did amateur spelunking in college) and 3) he’s taken me the the UW Geology Museum
I stumbled across the concept of “blindsight” on Wikipedia. It’s a when people have a form of brain damage that destroys their primary visual cortex (rendering them blind), but they show behaviors that indicate that some unconscious parts of their brain are still processing visual input. Fascinating
#WIPWednesday: slow going on the slog of stockinette. I finished the colorwork yoke but it may be too small (misread the instructions for the first set of increases), so to put off making a decision, I got a belated start on my project for the #OctobervestMAL . #Knitting #Knitsky 🧶
I read about a time study in Virginia Postrel’s book, “The Fabric of Civilization,” that calculated that more hours of work went into the sails of a Viking ship than all the rest of the ship.
