Yesterday was #GoffmanDay at @helsinki.fi: a celebration (and critique) of all things Goffmanesque! Very stimulating discussions with scholars from various disciplines.

In the second paper (first authored by Santeri Lepistö) we compared self-disclosure in face-to-face and video call settings and found that if the listener was disengaged, the speaker responded with a heightened skin conductance response -- but not in the video call setting!

In the first paper we found that grandiose narcissistic traits are associated with a heightened skin conductance response
to self-disclosure, especially when the narcissistic participants were telling stories about moments of being admired:

I guess it can be generally be considered quite a good week in academia if two papers are published!
