Hi, I’m Emma, an illustrator, comic artist, and sculptor with a propensity for drawing dinosaurs, monsters, aliens, and spaceships, but especially dinosaurs.

I'm working on a sci-fi comic with all of the above. Except dinosaurs, oddly no dinosaurs.

Boy does this make me want to break out the paints and pencils.

Ooo, this looks wonderful. I love that you’re working with Warwick Johnson-Cadwell again as well as your brother.

This is of course set to the "Truck Drivin' Song" by Weird Al.

I'm writing a book
Writing a big ol' book
I don't know what I'm doing and I won't let people look.
I'll probably get distracted and write a little song.
I'm writing a book that's just way too long.

It's possible. I've looked into them in the past and it might be worth another look.

Not that I'm aware of, but I agree it should be.

Printing...printing...printing...

It's my own fault for making so many options.

Get yours on my website: www.emmalerae.com
A picture showing three sizes of prints of an illustration of a Styracosaurus with a bloody horn and feet standing over the remains of a Daspletosaurus it's just gored and stomped to death. The Styracosaurus is in purples and blues with bright red blood everywhere. Underneath are the words "Survive out of Spite".

I hadn’t even thought of that….oooooooo.

I would love this.

The problem is I want most things filmed by LAIKA.

The current reality has actually made it hard for me to enjoy reading or watching a lot of science fiction.

I’m supposed to believe that humans can actually work together to get off this rock and not just be the galaxy’s biggest xenophobes? Psssht, yeah right. We never learn.

Due to popular request I've updated my Threadless store to include the Dinosaurs Survived! series.

A screenshot of a Threadless.com storefront that includes 9 designs of birds sitting atop dinosaur skulls with the words "Dinosaurs Survived!" beneath the illustrations.

My friend Keith has been crafting this wonderful tale of Ellie that centers around depression. (And monsters)

Creating comics is hard and I've had the good fortune of seeing him go through the process and create something that means a lot to him.

Check it out!

We’re now best friends!!

I love this movie to death and last year tracked down a used copy of the book so I could read more stories set in the same universe.

I highly recommend reading “The Enemy Papers” by Barry B. Longyear

I don't think our library had them either. Pretty sure I picked up the first book at a Scholastic book fair and then was impatient waiting for the book fair to come around again and preordered each of them at my local book store.

I've been meaning to reread them at some point. I was obsessed with them. Can't beat Allosaurus with obsidian spiked clubs and armor.

Just look at the awesomeness this cover promises!
The cover of the book "Dinosaur World" written by Stephen Leigh with a cover by Wayne Barlowe. The cover had a time traveling man with a machine gun pointed at a very slobbery and mean looking Tyrannosaurus rex.

This was the first movie disc rental I ever got from Netflix.

Have you ever read the "Dinosaur World" series by Stephen Leigh that took the idea of the short story and ran with it for 6 books?

There are sentient dinosaur tribes and time travel shenanigans.

I loved them when I was a kid and it was my first introduction to the art of Wayne Douglas Barlowe.

Ah yes, we see the typical artist going about business as usual.
