Open University has the largest student body in the UK. Everyone comes with a story. Everyone has a curious mind. And I think it's important to celebrate lifelong learning in a world which treats people as commodities.

Team Open University is back on BBC tonight for the University Challenge quarter-finals. If you watch, remember the importance of widening access to education for all. We are playing for the carers, the prisoners, the disabled, the kids who had to work to support their family and everyone else ♥️

#TinyJoys managed a run during a rare window when it wasn't raining. The sky was gloriously clear and fresh AND I saw two muntjac while I was out.

I saw a lot of people reposting this image, which looks like a poorly thought through advert for the new film version of the Odyssey. But, as has since become apparent, it was not an authentic film poster, so let's do a quick thread on how to check. 1/5

Our friends at contubernales.bsky.social are having a sale which INCLUDES our new book A Periodic Table of Greek Mythology!

Buying direct from Contubernales means we don't lose half the profit to fees and stuff like we do on other sites, which means more money toward our outreach projects.

omg I loved Yellow Submarine as a teen (before I knew the Odyssey even existed) but did not know this... def need to rewatch!
We got Yellow Submarine on DVD to watch with the kid.

It was my absolute favourite childhood film.

DVD has Making Of doc, where it says that the film’s story was inspired by the song… but based on the Odyssey.

Ergo, my *entire life* has basically been obsession with the Odyssey.
