Gaye and I had our first date, over takeout from Kim Son, (in the St Joseph Hospital ER breakroom). Today we had takeout favorites to say goodbye.

They are an excellent guide for writing lean. He chose the pen-name "Stark" as a self-guide for his writing and he lives up to it. Payback was like the 4th or 5th movie made of that book.

BTW, in addition to groundbreaking crime fiction work as Richard Stark, author Donald Westlake, (screenplay for The Grifters and The Stepfather) wrote under half-a-dozen pen-names, including Alan Marshall and Alan Marsh to publish smut.
