Not because "guns bring changes" but because the level & type of industrial production required for guns, brings about other changes. And a lot of those make a game feel less "fantasy" to a lot of players.
Lean into guns, and you can wind up with the printing press, pencils, steam engines, and pocket watches. (All fine, if that's what you want in your game.)

Once you have guns at a level suitable for warfare, society and culture goes through drastic changes.
Guns in Europe are 14th-16th century. They were rare, expensive, & aimed badly.

High fantasy games are often set in an era roughly equivalent to 10th-12th century tech.

Modern games don't have spaceships, even in urban fantasy. It's not about mixing genres; it's "what tech does this era have?"
Once the series finished, it vanished from the airwaves. It wasn't doing constant reruns every summer; if you didn't see the first run, you knew nothing about it. So it didn't gather a fandom over time. It was very obscure until recently when it became available again.

Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.

It'd shut out a lot of newer indie devs, esp. if it means "published on itch 5+ years ago." I suspect you'd see a lot of people ignoring it because they can't play.

Not even being hostile, just, "there's a zillion jams I can't do; I'm focusing on the ones I can."

Might try 1-2+ years as a limit.
"ambitious plans for a multiplayer mode that could one day see the AI running a game for a whole table of friends"

Translation: We are nowhere near an actual AI GM, but we like the imagery of a robot at the head of the table. For now, plz accept this mashup of character.ai and our game system.
"remember not just dialogue choices but also a player’s hesitations and omissions..."

What?

"If the player tries to stay vague or dodge the question, the NPC won’t just shrug it off. They might see that hesitation as a sign of guilt"

Err. That is not what most of us think of as a "hesitation."
If I were going to suggest one to start - I think I'd go with the Wanderhome Playkit. It's a free, reduced version of the full game, a fantasy TTRPG that's *not* focused on "search dungeon, kill monsters, collect loot."

I have stopped using the "stop" option; I just mark them as spam. I'm worried that "stop" marks me as a Real Person and means "don't send more from this phone number... sell this number to the next org in line."

I have responded to them but I'm pretty sure they're bots that don't receive texts.

COVID is the price society paid for collectively shrugging about AIDS for decades
"Both [the HIV/AIDS pandemic and the current covid] pandemics exhibit failures in global solidarity and reveal inequities in healthcare access."

They jumped straight to, "Hey, wannabe creators: You've flopped at writing, singing, acting, directing, and programming - but you could make millions by describing your vision to a chatbot!"
They've invested a ridiculous amount of money into AI content-generation and they are 100% convinced that there IS profit in them. Somewhere. They just have to find the magic buzzwords that will make the money roll in.

They missed the step where first they have to produce content that people want.
It's got partial playbooks built into the character creation section - 1 starting ability & 2 special ability options for each playbook.

There's enough to play; the options are just limited.
…why the hell is the PDF set to 50% magnification by default? Fortunately, I can edit PDFs.

It lacks playbooks but has the 1st ability and a few other details; you can make playable-but-limited characters.

Not fond of the charsheet in light blue - meaning, pale grey if printed in black & white.
Christopher Lee regarded it as the best movie he'd ever been involved with.
Yay great! (Wow, that's recent; you weren't a few hours ago when I was at work!)
Bundles have gotten a lot harder to find - itch doesn't put most of them on the bundles page anymore, so people can't find them by browsing. If they don't wind up showcased on the front page, people only see them on other social media sites.
Drumroll please...
