While settlements dont prove causation, it does demonstrate that there was enough evidence to continue through every appeal the defense launched & $1billion for workers treatment? Quite a statement of how much is needed. Correlation, yes. Causation, plutonium & uranium, verifiable yes.

He noted the natural background radiation vs. levels and types he tested. It was 3 uranium radiation at levels beyond accepted or natural levels. It's all in the findings. A school was shut down. These tests were a 10mile radius.

The Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act (EEOICPA) program has paid out over $1 billion to former workers and their families who have developed illnesses linked to their time at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant.

Also a class-action was settled for I believe $300mil.

Chillicothe does have higher rates of radon. I dont know about the rest of the state, that was just a recent news report.

I hope its all in the past. With all the recent reported leaks, spills, disposal of materials to local junkyard, its a hard sell. Especially with the historical violations.

Yes, the surrounding community does use the aquifer under the site's landfill for drinking water. So does Indiana and Illinois. It's not leaking now but with only 2 ft of bedrock and known fractures, per DOE, you want to drink the kool-aid made from that water?
Balancing promise and precaution: Piketon’s new nuclear chapter
PIKETON, Ohio – The American Centrifuge facility, also known locally as the Piketon Atomic Plant, has returned to the forefront of nuclear news. In the previous month, 96 U.S. Senators, cast their …

Pike Co. exceeds the nation for cancer rates by 44%.

Yes, the DOE reports always show levels within accepted ranges.

Dr. Ketterer completes independent samples of air, water, soil. Found pollution for 10mi radius. Zahns Corner school was closed due to levels. 12 students died from rare cancers.

Wasn't the 238th journalist killed & a civilian in past couple of days since the ceasefire?

Agreed. Every source has been detrimental, law of unintended consequences and the harm principle are the drivers for all resources. Utilitarianism.

Oh wow! Glad I got your insight on it!

I found this site, you are most likely following already. I dont know who manages it but it tracks worldwide activities for each site, chemical and nuclear. It might be helpful:

I was naive and blind to all of this. I had no concept of how all this manifested. It is just devastating to learn of how it has harmed so many people and environment. I am grateful for reporters/activists like yourself who track this globally. It brings hope to hear other countries advancements.
elenaagain.bsky.social
Thank you for your understanding. I absolutely believe more advanced countries do much better for their citizens, environments and scientific improvements. We are regressing in many areas.

Jason Salley is an independent investigative reporter. He has been reporting on this site for years. He includes the report directly in this article. You can't get any better source than the actual report filed to the EPA. So your conclusion is false.

Landfill has 2ft clearance from the aquifer it sits over in places. The aquifer provides water all the way to Illinois. Millions rely on it. DOEs own report admits its violation of the regs. They dont care. No accountability. Not clean. It kills.

Excerpt from above article:

@ermakova.bsky.social do you get it now?

You have to understand real ramifications. Come, roll in dirt, lick walls, drink mud puddles if its so harmless.

They tore down the offices & now work out of trailers levels were so toxic. They didn't do plutonium experiments or uranium enrichment there.

@cuthbot.bsky.social thank you for asking. There are many more articles and reports. The Ohio Department of Health has the cancer rates.
