More than 34,000 votes were cast from Thursday to Sunday at 16 early voting locations.

It's the last week to vote early at any of the 16 locations. Early voting ends Saturday at 5 p.m.

On the first day of expanded early voting at 16 locations yesterday, more than 8,000 ballots were cast.

We're committed to accessibility, security and accountability in the mail-in ballot process.

As required by Virginia Code § 24.2-704(B) since 2021, ballot return envelopes include a hole punch for visually impaired voters.

Today the absentee voting team began the process to open more than 30,000 returned ballot envelopes and remove the voted ballots. These will be tabulated by the high-speed digital scan machine.

Early Voting Begins Friday for the November General Election

In-person early voting begins Friday, Sept. 19, at the Fairfax County Government Center, Mount Vernon and North County locations.

On Sunday, following Virginia law, the Electoral Board voted to accept 1,070 of 1,135 provisional ballots cast in the 11th Congressional District Special Election. The accepted ballots were extracted and tabulated as the final step in counting votes.
175 precinct chiefs are delivering results to the Government Center tonight. Thank you to all of our officers, volunteers and staff for your work during this special election!

The next election: Nov. 4 (early voting begins Sept. 19).
