If Hegseth wants less fat in the military, he needs to buy GLP-1 drugs by the tanker truck load and pass them out at sick call to anyone who is overweight. It is far easier to maintain physical fitness if your weight is under control.

Tesla sells EVs which primarily appeal to the political left while being run by a leader who is completely toxic to that same demographic. Now, Musk wants to be King of Tesla. There is no way I will buy a Tesla before Musk is long gone.

Nov. 4 is election day, so they will take off that week too. Then Thanksgiving. And Christmas. Maybe they will bother to work again the first week in January when they must formally gavel in for the 2nd year of this term. I'm betting that, unless Dems cave (I hope not) the gov is still shut down.

Trump is just peaching commanding people he likes to be paid and commanding people he does not like to not be paid. Trump feels he doesn't need Congress at all. Executive orders fit perfectly with his style. Unless the Democrats cave (I hope not), I expect we will still be shut down come January.

The East Wing is the least historic part of the main White House building. It was built by FDR decades after the building of the West Wing. The Eisenhower building was built way earlier, by President Grant, and only renamed in the 20th century.

Yes. But Trump only appoints 3 of the 12 members. 3 more are from Trump controlled executive departments. Others are from Congress and the DC government. But I would guess that the "demolish first, then ask" strategy is designed to force approval.

My post was questioning the path of such a bullet. If the ICE guy smashes the driver side window and shoots DOWN at the occupant, how does the bullet go UP to a Marshall on the opposite side of the car? I can't quite believe that. Much like I can't quite believe the magic Kennedy bullet path.

Trump proclaims that he is a king and can spend money how he wants regardless of what anyone in Congress might wish to say about it. I would like to have my share of such a "distribution" but I want it to be due to a law passed by Congress, not by Trump choosing who gets paid and who doesn't.

This is another thing that Senate Democrats should stand firm on. No bailouts for soybean farmers. Let them sell the beans to nations that are now very hungry due to USAID vanishing. See what those beans are really worth on the open market.

How about let's not bail out the farmers this time. Most of them voted for Trump. I say let them reap what they have sown. Besides, there is no budget. And too much spending versus too little revenue. Congress should not appropriate money to bail out farmers given the current budget.

Needless to say, if you used the wrong kind of device at the junction between glass and copper, the signal would not go through. There are many different types of copper and glass wire (fiber). The powered device needs to convert between the proper types according to the overall system design.

To hook copper wire signals into glass wire signals you need a powered device at the junction point. As a computer guy, we did it a lot with 10 gigabit ethernet signals. Copper will not carry those very far. But glass will carry the signal many miles before it needs a signal repeater.

The First Amendment right of free association, combined with the lack of any federal funding, should allow the schools to continue to do what they do. At least, IMHO. It is like a private golf club that refuses to admit women or blacks or whomever.
