The folks at @afghanevac.bsky.social have in hand a new USCIS directive which largely targets Afghan refugees who fled the Taliban in the wake of the U.S. withdrawal in 2021.

No one is safe under occupation.
We have said consistently that the Guard should not be here. It is unsafe for both members of the Guard and communities.
Our deepest condolences go to the two West Virginia families who will now spend this season mourning the loss of loved ones who died while deployed unnecessarily.

There was a shooting in SE about 45 minutes ago, and we all got off the bus to walk to Anacostia Station (past the crime scene), and let me tell you, I didn't see one officer or agent or anyone who wasn't MPD, and that's just one way you know this is all just an excuse to take over the city

To escape the horrors I'm rewatching the Original Series, and I'm on Naked Time, which is the episode where everyone gets *space madness*, and Chapel just told Spock she's in love with him. Post SNW, I'm seeing it through a whole new lens, and I'm actually choked up. There are real tears in my eyes.
