You sit down & learn to read - FOR CONTEXT - FNC was still subject to the FCC & most of the trash they spew wasn't allowed until the late 80's - when the fairness doctrine was done away with. Don't forget that they got & kept their licenses through the FCC.

1/2 YOU might want to take a seat or look up what the actual ruling - while the fairness doctrine did not "require facts" per se, SCOTUS did rule that free speech rights COULD be "partially restricted by the FCC to maintain the public interest in equitable use of scarce broadcasting frequencies".

it fascinates me how most everyone in the U.S. does turkey for Thanksgiving, but we are all over the map as to what we eat for Christmas (as is proper for a hugely diverse nation).
