Every officer in the US military needs to take one lesson from how Hegseth is treating Admiral Bradley: if you follow illegal orders Trump will not protect you. You will be sacrificed at the earliest convenience. Refuse illegal orders and demand a court-martial instead of resigning.

The Democrats deal on the shutdown is worse than a pure cave. By allowing a meaningless vote on ACA subsidies they are giving vulnerable GOP senators an out. They can say *they* voted for subsidies.

I can see Trump's tariff wars actually bringing food prices down. If other countries raise tariffs, and US farmers can't sell stuff overseas, then they will have to try to sell the surplus in the US. So food prices go down. The trouble is, this will absolutely wreck US farmers.
