Repair Café today at the Hackspace until 13:00.
Hmmm. Ooops. Laser lens and mirrors aren't well.
@prusa3d.com would appreciate it if someone could dig out our email we sent about being blocked from printables. It's not massively convenient being a hackspace that can't access a 3D printing repository :( Pretty please?
Another popular item: table lamps.
One of our members brought a project, this glass decoration they've made that needed the mount threading.
Soldering the watering can.
This petrol strimmer wasn't starting due to an HT lead fault but now it's going.
The spout stay on this watering can has detached making the spout fragile. Thin to weld and it's galvanised so we're going to try soldering it.
Ah, fan heaters another repair you see a lot.
This pressure washer failed with no obvious fault so might need a little investigation.
Broken portable vacuum cleaners always seem to be a Repair Café staple, here's today's first.
This clock has a broken battery box that needs sorting.
We're going to try and fill the damage in this boat propeller with weld and grind it back. It's taken quite a smack.
Automatic cat flap where the mechanism has failed being checked over. One of the internal parts has broken and we're 3D printing a replacement.
A record deck getting a fixing.
Child's ride on with a simple switch fault fixed.
We're doing a Repair Café today at the Hackspace 10:00-14:00.
It's Tuesday so it's Social Night at the #HackSpace from 19:30 tonight. Not sure who else will be down but Nick is working on some #LARP props.
We are thrilled to announce that in March, we received a micro-grant from @LoveEssexUK. This funding was awarded due to our efforts to reduce household waste in Essex. To read more about the Love Essex Fund, visit www.loveessex.org/love-essex-fund-success-stories.
We’ve got merch! 🎉 merch.eehack.space

Items take around 10 working days to produce, followed by about 5 days for dispatch. It’s all handled by a third-party service so we’re just managing the front end.

Any profits go straight back into supporting the space.

LEDs wired up, may change the resistors because it's a bit brighter than I fancied. I'm going to write the sequence procedures in first and see how it looks, but it's probably too bright to be even slightly canon.
Today the scary laser got a new shiny base to reduce airflow. Plan is to fully seal it with ventilation tape except for the extractor we have been building!

Today's project doesn't have anything to do with breaking the laws of physics.
It's Tuesday, which means it's social night at the #Hackspace tonight from 19:30. What we'll be doing in not sure but I suspect it will involve laser ablation of metal again.
