Yes, it’s illegal. Like changing it to Department of War, like ten thousand other things. Part of the Trump strategy is to break the law and convey “the rule of law is weak and feminine and laughable and should be overridden by Our Guy.” Trump is fundamentally anti-law.

Sigh.

Anywho, look at this young man helping us sort our socks. Oh, to be a fat, festive cat who is unaware of the American healthcare system.

We just got an $11k medical bill today from Dan’s procedure last year and I don’t know what I’m supposed to do with this. I thought we were paying on it all year? Why does the website say we owe nothing? Where is our insurance cap? How is this even real?

I’ve returned bearing cats. What’d I miss?

Sometimes I think about the (probably) haunted horror hotel that was the Hyatt with the rotating restaurant in Kansas City and I give myself the willies. Truly a poster child for the consequences of unregulated capitalism.

I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

Opinion | Jamal Khashoggi: What the Arab world needs most is free expression
The Arab world needs a modern version of the old transnational media so citizens can be informed about global events.

I was happy because I splurged on a new bottle of nail polish and then I realized saying I “splurged” on a $10 bottle of nail polish is just sad. In my list of things I’ll do when I’m magically rich, I’m just going to buy a bottle of nail polish like a normal person.

So like, is Hillary divorced yet? Because if I were Hillary, I’d definitely be divorced by now. Mm-mm. I don’t care how long ago it was, if you were on that plane or on that island, into the bin you go.

So every freelancer you know is going to lose their insurance or be bankrupted by premiums because Schumer is an invertebrate

Over on threads, I keep getting random posts showing up warning of something big/not good about to happen. People saying they’re having premonitions and such. Maybe I’ve accidentally tapped into woo-woo threads by liking cat pics, idk, but the fact that I’ve seen more than one weirds me out.

The best day will be when the next person rips all of this crap off, puts everything back and smudges the whole building. They could even make a reality show, “Deshittifying the White House” or something, and Retta could host it. As much as I hate reality shows, I’d love every second of that.

I want to be the kind of rich where you can afford the Looney Tunes checks instead of just the standard green ones from the bank.

I miss my best friend from middle school and high school. I really made a mistake drifting away from her in college. I need to fix this.

The man at the cardboard station at the recycling center told me I had the most beautiful hair, and you know what? Today, I’ll accept it.

Here’s my laundry list of stuff that is functioning poorly and/or broken:
1. Washing machine drain
2. Garbage disposal
3. Over-range light
4. Dan’s back
5. The government

Ugh. I’m losing control of the house and laundry. The washing machine drain is super clogged and we’re gonna get a plumber in, but in the meantime, everything’s a mess and I feel less than sane.

It’s the episode of Enterprise where they go back to 2004 and I get to relive a time when my car was brand new. ☺️

I added the ancient HomestarRunner easter egg audio clips to my discord soundboard and I have been waiting half my life for this.

Dan’s out of commission with a bad back for who knows how long and I’m back to running the house by myself again. It feels weird and is definitely not the refreshing of our bedroom walls we had planned for our 15th anniversary vacation week.
C'est la vie.

The too-small Ren Faire pants I’m currently wearing in public are being held together by a bra strap, and poorly. It is…an experience.
