Go on a walk and see how many people have illegal plate covers to avoid cameras/tolls or accountability.

Make having an obstructed plate a parking violation, then parking enforcement could help enforce. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
Ford, set to ban speed cameras, muses about cameras to fight crime instead | CBC News
Ontario Premier Doug Ford is set to soon ban speed cameras across the province, but is now musing about "cameras on crime" instead to target stolen cars and home invasion suspects.

Ontario needs more automated enforcement, not less. Automated enforcement for blocking intersections, turn/entry prohibitions, and bus lanes. These cause congestion or block transit and automated enforcement would help a lot. The police have other things to do than traffic enforcement.

Speed camera penalties are only monetary penalties. A speeding ticket from a police officer results in demerit points (16km/h+ over) which impact your driving record and insurance. Hopefully police do speed enforcement if cameras are removed.

Canada should further move away from the US and be like most of the world by finishing metrication. It would take some public education but maybe people would be on board. That’s my take of the day.

Kingston Transit updating its data to show the detour on Transit and onboard stop announcements and screens! Fantastic! It’s the small things that make a great rider experience. Much better than having to decode a text service alert. I shouldn’t be shocked that they did this, should be standard.

Alright, I'll say it: people in buses ARE better than people in cars, Stephen
Holyday disagrees that RapidTO is about choosing people over cars.

"I think it's actually simpler than that — I think it's about choosing some people over other people," he says.

He says motorists have businesses or live in the area, and they'll feel a "profound impact" from bus lanes.

In Chow's 2014 Mayoral run, one of slogans was "Better bus service. Now." Toronto has a city-wide frequent bus network, but lets it get stuck in traffic. Every route that has 10 min or better service should have transit priority. Bus lanes save money for everyone and will get people moving.
"Everywhere in this world, whether it be London, New York, Hong Kong — you name it — they have bus lanes," notes Chow.

She says it's time to move forward with RapidTO to Bloor. She supports working with local councillors to address concerns about things like parking further north.

Does Oshawa have some of the most restrictive park hours? All parks except one have these hours.

Saw a new Translink electric bus charging up in Oshawa on the long journey to Vancouver!

Maybe we will see the use of the strong-mayor powers to get this through rather than accepting a compromise.
The sixplex vote is expected to be close. It's possible the mayor and Councillor Gord Perks, chair of the Planning & Housing Committee, will accept some kind of compromise.

I previewed the debate and the whole agenda for my newsletter: toronto.cityhallwatcher.com/p/running-th...

Can Bonnie Crombie / OLP and Marit Stiles / ONDP stop fighting each other and instead focus on fighting Doug Ford and the PCs? It is exhausting to see both waste time visiting places where the other party is ahead.

Can we ban municipalities from downloading winter sidewalk clearing to property owners? I don’t appreciate getting to experience the (mostly low) level of care each property owner feels towards sidewalk users. And I am able bodied. I will keep on submitting complaints to the city.
