Well done to you and everyone who worked hard to get it back online within weeks!

The British Library was hacked in October 2023 and parts of their website have never come back. Thanks be to the Wayback Machine!

When the news was talking about "Sora 2", I thought that it was talking about "Saw 2". I wonder which one is more scary.

Black-and-white flyer for WHUS 91.7 FM radio in Storrs, Connecticut. At the top, bold handwritten text reads: “SHUT UP AND LISTEN!” Below, a stylized illustration shows a strong figure with a raised fist, standing in front of a broadcast tower emitting signals. The WHUS logo is centered prominently, with “91.7 FM WHUS” written across the figure’s chest and arm. At the bottom, text reads “STORRS, CONNECTICUT.”

Not to spend too much time on it mourning, but I am just about finishing a project that people contributed money to help me finish about 3-4 years ago and they all did it through Twitter and I won't be on Twitter to announce it or have them find that the project did ultimately complete.

I wrote a book once that I didn't feel like publishing, so some friends put it up on their website. And that was fine, because I could tell people where to find it. But then they allowed the website to die. But just this last week I found it on the Wayback Machine. The Internet Archive rocks!

Starbucks’ CEO currently makes 6,666x what the median worker makes.

There’s no better time than Workers’ Labor Day to stand with @sbworkersunited.org baristas as they fight corporate greed.

Happy Labor Day! Anybody see this in today's newspaper? ✊🔥

Sign our pledge to stand with over 12,000 union Starbucks workers and say No Contract, No Coffee!

STARBUCKS IS BREWING A LATTE PROBLEMS by refusing to settle a union contract. Starbucks is in hot water. The coffee giant is stonewalling a contract with 12,000+ union baristas. For less money than CEO Brian Niccol paid himself last year, Starbucks can sign a fair union contract TODAY. This Labor Day, tell Starbucks: NO CONTRACT, NO COFFEE! bit.ly/NoContractNoCoffee

I appreciate logic isn't their strong suit but how will the Faragists who lie about the UK being much more dangerous than US cities square their lies with Donald Trump's lies about US cities being really, really dangerous?

Tom Lehrer made musical satire sing… & sting. His songs were outrageous & often uncomfortably true. 🎭🗡️

The satirist & mathematician died recently at 97, famously disclaiming copyright to his lyrics & compositions.

Although it is often interpreted as a ballad about unrequited love, Chris Isaak has said that the song was inspired by a telephone call from a woman offering to arrange a hook-up and is about "what happens when you have a strong attraction to people that aren't necessarily good for you."
