Updated Map of All US Copyright suits v AI companies. 45 cases still live. 3 voluntarily dismissed. Don’t expect any other cases to have decisions on fair use until spring 2026 at the earliest. Bartz trial on pirated books is Dec 1st in SF, 8 AM sharp.

It's worth keeping in mind, insofar as today's #SCOTUS ruling is going to put a lot of pressure on federal district courts to certify nationwide class actions, that part of why nationwide classes have become harder to certify is because of ... the Supreme Court:

BREAKING NEWS: META wins on fair use defense in Kadrey v. Meta. Judge Chhabria warns,in dicta, says that in most cases AI training will likely be ILLEGAL and NOT FAIR USE. Problem here is Ps didn't present sufficient evidence to raise a genuine issue of market dilution, a new concept for (c).
