S.F. supervisors just passed a law requiring 3.5 years of rental aid for low income tenants displaced by new housing.

The new tenant protections are partially in response to policies like upzoning that encourage new housing development.

The city will commission an outside review of the fatal stabbing of social worker Alberto Rangel at San Francisco General last week.

Rangel was attacked by a known patient. The hospital had been warned about him, including the day of the killing.
