US 97 is closed from mp 236 (just outside Chelan Falls) to mp 240, due to a collision. State Patrol is requesting that travelers seek alternate routes. No estimated time of reopening.

HEADS-UP, MATTAWA: A city project that will upgrade sewer lines will close SR 243 between Roads 24 and 26 SW (mileposts 11-13) starting Mon. Oct. 20. It may take up to two weeks to reopen it. Travelers should expect local-road detours and lower speeds throughout the area.

ATTENTION, CHELAN! Knapps Hill Tunnel on SR 97A between Chelan and Entiat (MP 224) will close from 12p-2p on Monday Oct. 20 for a final inspection of the tunnel's new lighting. Please use SR 971 as a detour route and remember to pack extra time and patience!

Then & now.

It's remarkable to think that around this time last year, we were setting the first bridge girders for the section of the NSC that crosses the Spokane River. Today, the entire bridge structure - including the deck - is nearly complete.

No more pilot car on US 97 Blewett Pass, but crews continue to deal with the Labor Mountain Fire, so plan for flaggers and reduced speeds, and be aware that trailheads and campgrounds in the area are closed due to the fire.

Please plan ahead and be patient.

ATTENTION, MOSES LAKE: The 2025 phase of the East of Vantage to Moses Lake paving project on Interstate 90 is complete, from mileposts 164 to 181. Work will resume in April, from MPs 138 to 148. Thank you so much for your patience and prudent driving during this project!

Heavy Machinery: the ballet.

Last week, we wrapped up our annual Equipment Roadeo. The competition was as fierce as it was elegant. It also gave our crews training and experience on a variety of heavy machinery.

I think the cow "artwork" is just as horrifying as seeing an actual cow on a highway, but I digress.

There are real-life cows on the loose along SR 211 near Baker Lake Road just south of Davis Lake. Please be prepared for slow moooo-ving traffic and don't steer into trouble.

Good morning and happy Monday! Reminder that the weeklong closure of NB Greene Street starts today. Contractor crews working on the NSC, Spokane River Crossing project, are continuing utility work. Plan ahead and use the detour below.

Heads up if you're traveling through Chewelah tomorrow! Contractor crews will be painting happy little stripes on US 395 in both directions between Chewelah & Immel Rd. Expect delays of up to 30 minutes. Stripe trucks travel at 15 MPH or less. PLEASE DO NOT PASS WHILE THEY PAINT!

(3/3) Remember that I-90 Vantage Bridge is reduced to single lanes in both directions and Leavenworth on US 2 is expecting plenty of visitors for the first weekend of Oktoberfest.

That means additional traffic on I-90 and US 2 as we all head out on weekend adventures.

Words are hard so here's a drawing. We've got lots of upcoming daytime ramp closures for paving on US 395 at Paha Packard Rd. tomorrow & Thursday. In short, go past where you need to go & turn around at the next interchange OR get on US 395 opposite of where you need to go then turn around.

I-90 Vantage Bridge is reduced to single lanes in both directions and travelers can expect longer than normal travel times crossing the bridge.

It's also busy on US 2 Stevens as people seek out hiking, fishing, hunting, and fall festivals. Please plan ahead and be patient with fellow travelers.

US 97 Blewett Pass remains closed between MP 149-178 due to the Labor Mountain Fire. The pass has been closed since Sept. 21. Fire remains active on both sides of the road and visibility is low. There is no estimated time to reopen. When Blewett is closed, that puts added traffic on I-90 and US 2.
