Happy to see The Plank on the front page of BGG! It’s a family-friendly push-your-luck game designed by @magnusuptime.bsky.social .

I recommend it wholeheartedly and am happy that more than a selected few now can get their hands on this great game.

This is also a great way to offload remembering what games you’ve played and how much you liked them. There’s no need to rate everything, but the benefits for giving ratings to indie games and pubs is vast

I created a list with all games I’ve played and haven’t rated yet. Makes it easier to do this.

Another advantage of this as a game designer is that your reviews can serve as a record of the games you've played so you don't have to rely on your memory.
My list has nearly 650!
This is a reminder! Rate your new games on BGG. Especially if they are from small publishers! Make sure to give the games from small publishers some love (and slack if they should be avoided).

End of message.

This goes for TTRPGs, journaling games, and story games, too! Please review us on Itch.io, DriveThruRPG, Tabletop Bookshelf, and wherever you find our stuff!

(Actually, on Itch, it's better to leave a comment than write a review because only the creator can see reviews)

Summary: Christian Kudahl is hot!

For the past 3-5 years I’ve gotten to know Christian. We hade common friends in the danish design sphere and we ended up chatting.

I played this game with Dan and I'm not sure I've ever played a game that was so immediately and successfully impactful.

It's been almost a month and I am still thinking about it.

Deep down it made Stonewall feel like a weak attempt compared to how elegantly its message was communicated via play.
I don't know how to introduce this one. After three titles about opium peddling, I figured the rest of SDHistCon would be breezy by comparison. I was wrong. The next day, I experienced one of the toughest board games I've ever played. Perhaps *the* toughest. spacebiff.com/2025/11/24/u...
Unnameable
After the first day of SDHistCon, where I played three games about opium peddling, I figured the second would be easier on my stomach. I could not have been more wrong. It has no name. Its designer…

My friend and I drove from Dayton to Philadelphia on Friday, planning to hit will-call before 7pm Friday night to avoid the long badge line on Saturday. Traffic and blah blah, our ETA kept creeping later. Arrived at 6:55, but 0 line. Got our badges at 6:58. Whew!

I haven’t told you a lot about my next release… but Whirling Witchcraft: Fantastic Familiars is bringing a whole new kind of chaos to the cauldron. New witches are moving into town, and their familiars have basically claimed your workbench as their own.

@danielolai.bsky.social did a great presentation earlier this week on the 2026 Swedish boardgame design competition. I like the changes to the format, especially the regional qualifiers where you show up with a physical prototype and teach your game. Looking forward to participate!

I’m working on either an area control or a pattern recognition game.

What area control and/or pattern recognition games work well for two (and more) players? What does the game do that makes it work well for two players specifically? 🎲✂️
