They threaten to fire, then they threaten to not pay, then miraculously they'll not fire and will pay and try to convince everyone how "generous" they really are because they didn't break the law after all. 🙄

I'm guessing many of them are in the Epstein files and Trump is holding it over their heads. The few that aren't in there don't want them released because the fallout from the resignations (even if only a fraction) would harm their power.

The problem is that those with jobs that have to be done now are forced to work without knowing when the paycheck is coming. Those w/o time sensitive jobs get paid vacation (although there's still the uncertainty of the next paycheck) and then get overtime to catch up on the work that was postponed.

ICE got multi year appropriations in the OBBB, so they aren't affected. Unfortunately. The National Guard however (along with all the military) gets to work without knowing when they'll be paid.
