The back sticker on the bottom of the console, itll have a model number of “SCPH-XXXXX.” You can also check on the BIOS screen by pressing Triangle and it will show you the model number there.

I really hate how long I have been away for, over a year and a half since my last FF7 playthrough, but that's life. Speedrunning isn't going anywhere and I am not going to magically become way worse from taking time away. Just haven't felt like doing it but now I do.

You can push the ribbon cable down on the other PS2 models, but it's a temporary fix and it can come back up at any given moment. I really don't want to rish that happening again, especially to my FF7 speedrun discs because of the sonic disc pressings.

Thankfully I got it resurfaced from the amazing folks of Pink Gorilla, so it's saved, but still.

So now I will wait AGAIN to do speedrun stuff until I pick up a new 79K PS2 in Japan, since that model you can't ever have the ribbon cable bullshit happen.

Then I decide to do a full playthrough of Dino Crisis 2 and test the disc I bought over 4 years ago. Everything went well. Open up my PS2 after finishing the game, huge ring scratch on that disc, which is a $100+ game mind you.

That really set me off, but thankfully it wasn't my FF7 discs.

PS2 was fine for the first few days I tested it. Tested and did some practice on my FF7 sonic discs. All good.

My recent pickup of Resident Evil: Director's Cut black label, I wanted to test the disc. Did a full Jill playthrough, no issues.

Just when I started to have the motivation to speedrun again, and I started actually practicing FF7 again offline, my PS2 decides to shit itself and the ribbon cable is now scratching my discs 🙃

Back to being inactive on again because I also cant stand doing casual and getting almost no viewership

I also streamed the full thing on my Twitch because I am trying for the billionth time in the last year and a half to get back to streaming. It's been truly hard, let alone get back to speedrunning. I am trying my best though I really am. Trying to overcome my anxiety and mental block.

Played through Resident Evil Remake for the first time, after replaying OG PS1. Super good remake, I was very impressed. Took a bit to adapt to early game strategy with being frugal on ammo / healing, but after that we were solid. Also technically a "spooky game" for October. 😊

Had a package I thought was going to ship before de minimis got repealed, sent back to Japan, due to suspension of JP Post thanks to shitty tariffs. Not going to be able to import anything from Japan for a while. Will have to snag these on my Japan trip in December I guess.
