UK based retiree, living my best life. Not missing work but do miss former Continental European and North American colleagues and friends. Nostalgia ain’t what it used to be.

Interesting that the equipment being used is manufactured in Europe. 🤔
Thank goodness they managed to to squeeze those efficiency savings! 🙄
Good to see the wingers stepping up.
So a political party entirely composed of people who have never run anything and have no thought through coherent political philosophy can’t run a council and fall out among themselves.

In other news, bears defecate in the woods.

😳
Excellent initiative.

Having worked for a Business which paid ‘union rates’ we were constantly undercut by businesses whose employees were so poorly paid they qualified for social benefits.

Ironically the benefits were probably funded by our employer N I contributions.
Surely people aren’t surprised by this startling insight? 🙄
Well at least, Welbeck is in my Fantasy League Team. 🥲
He hasn’t clicked yet, has he?
Still 0-0 at our least favourite ground)
Will do, if l can find it again!
Apropos nothing related;

By complete accident l came across a reply you posted about 5 years ago in response to an article by Julian Jessop at IEA.

Excellent comments and insight, if l may say so.
Even if you apply classic economics and want to ‘balance the budget’ we need to put the 22 billion ‘hole’ into context.

This represents < 2% of Government tax ‘revenue.’ I would be delighted if l could get our family budget accurate to within +/- 2%.

Stop sweating the small stuff.
Possibly or the Royal Family believe this issue is becoming the sole topic of conversation about the Royals.

The solution to that problem might be to cut the problem adrift?
I know businesses are in business to make a return for their shareholders but ripping off people in the middle of a national crisis is about as low as it gets.
With greatest respect; it’s unlikely to be a classic.

Not sure they will be missing much.
My father had a similar experience.

Most people he met complimented him on his accent and asked what part of Wales he was from.

Newcastle, he replied!
It’s probably quicker to list those people and organisations who haven’t. 🤔
And

3. People constantly trying to make their problems, your problems.
Without delving into discussions on the fact the 2 are not mutually exclusive, l would remind Ms. Badenoch of M Thatcher and M Howard, both of whom were lawyers and presumably managed both roles, passably.
As a Christian myself, the challenge is not recognition, but following the teachings.

Love thy neighbour as thy self and welcome the stranger, come immediately to mind.

And as for not hating anyone…..

🤔
Done 👍 (and good night)
That is a worthwhile endeavour. Is there a practical way l can support the D H?
Website details.

That being said, we have probably exhausted this topic and it might be, as you say, a good place to part.

Thank you for taking the trouble to respond in so much detail.
The Labour Party needs all the friends it can get at the moment and it reflects badly on us, if we fall out amongst ourselves.

I wish you every success in your endeavours and will follow you with interest.

I am genuinely interested in finding out more about D H, perhaps you could give me your
In that case l apologise, it was not my intention to be patronising. I had / have no knowledge of DH and had l known you were economists rather than a news service, l would not have made the suggestions.

No offence caused, perhaps just a misunderstanding given the blunt nature of these exchanges.
