Labour is telling you VERY LOUDLY who to vote for if you value human rights. And it's definitely NOT LABOUR.
goodlawproject.org
Woah! So Labour's position really is, 'telling us off for breaching human rights undermines the case for human rights'? Proper Trumpian stuff from Labour's answer to Suella Braverman.

I've worked at five universities; all held easily accessible paper records of degrees awarded/transcripts dating back to at least the 1960s. A degree from any institution that failed to follow such basic safeguards of academic integrity really wouldn't be worth the paper it's written on.

That this utter shitshow of a government is determined to push ahead with this poorly conceived legislation is despicable. In spite of Reeves' shameless lies to the contrary, overwhelming evidence confirms that it's the planning process *not* protecting wildlife that's the obstacle to development.

The Government has tabled 67 last-minute amendments to the Planning & Infrastructure Bill.‼️

Rushed through with little scrutiny, it’s a shambolic way to reform the planning system.

It creates confusion, sidelines science and leaves nature dangerously exposed.

A Wren stands upright on a mossy branch, beak open in full song, small but defiant. Against a soft golden blur, it seems to speak out for nature itself: a clear voice cutting through the noise, refusing to be ignored.

For reasons, it would be v. helpful to have information from a broad range of academic and non-academic (incl. GLAM) users of the BBC Written Archives OTHER THAN historians, briefly on: 1) What you've used it for and 2) How the proposed changes would impact on your research.

Reposts welcomed.

Being forced to decide if you need the missing item(s) *so* badly that it's worth braving the throng in Aldi/Co-op/wherever has become something of a new Christmas tradition!

"Cognitive exam"?! So someone gave him a colouring book and he *almost* managed to keep the crayon from going over the lines?

"Rachel Reeves unblocked a development of 20,000 homes that were being held up by a rare snail, after being approached by a developer with whom she said, 'we have a good relationship'

Please, just stop sending me AI videos of Dad. Stop believing I wanna see it or that I'll understand, I don't and I won't. If you're just trying to troll me, I've seen way worse, i'll restrict and move on. But please, if you've got any decency, just stop doing this to him and to me, to everyone even, full stop. It's dumb, it's a waste of time and energy, and believe me, it's NOT what he'd want.
To watch the legacies of real people be condensed down to 'this vaguely looks and sounds like them so that's enough,
, just so
other people can churn out horrible TikTok slop puppeteering them is maddening. You're not making art, you're making disgusting, over-processed hotdogs out of the lives of human beings, out of the history of art and music, and then shoving them down someone else's throat hoping they'll give you a little thumbs up and like it.
Gross. And for the love of EVERYTHING, stop calling it 'the future. Al is just badly recycling and regurgitating the past to be reconsumed. You are taking in the Human Centipede of content, and from the very very end of the line, all while the folks at the front laugh and laugh, consume and consume.

It really does say something about the state of the country when a statement issued by a retired footballer regarding the fake patriotism and engineered outrage of the flag fondlers is more eloquent, coherent and rational than that managed by the prime minister.

Wish I could say I was shocked, but here's the Labour government constraining the right to peaceful protest again...

'You can protest but only according to our rules. The rules are: you're not allowed to use any of the tactics that make protest effective.'
peterwalker99.bsky.social
NEW: Home Office announces planned new anti-protest powers, mainly aimed at pro-Gaza protests like those for Palestine Action. Police will be able to consider the "cumulative impact" of repeated protests and potentially order that they be relocated.
