Get some little joys in your life this week. Like turning your Black Russian terrier in to a poodle just because you can.

I think he looks delightfully silly and perfectly ready for the summer heat!

Really happy to see feral cats put on the predator free 2050 list. As much as I adore cats, feral cats are a huge problem and we need to deal with them.

We talking about shopping small? I am small. I also donate a portion of my art product sales to conservation efforts, so my best to reduce waste and produce locally, and make good art that people seem to like 💜💜💜
I never do sales, but I'm doing a big Christmas sale this year! Shop #kikorangi local, support an artist, and give unique gifts that always hit with their recipient!

Get in and snag bundle deals, marked down tees, and restocked items that were previously sold out: pepperraccoon.com/collections/...

I got my 10th Covid booster yesterday and the pharmacist said I’m the only young patient she knows who’s kept up to date with vaccines.

Just a friendly reminder that anyone over 30 can get boosted every 6 months in NZ. Every bit helps!

Relieved to say that so far no fireworks out here at the new whare - I think because we’re so close to rural properties? I’m expecting the Airbnb weekenders to be noisy tho…

Kia kaha to all you folks struggling with fireworks tonight 💖
I don’t have any videos of Gus reacting to fireworks, because he’s a 54kg dog built to pull carts.

He freezes at the first bang, then bolts in terror in whatever direction he is facing if there’s a second.

We have to brace to hold him (yes, it is brutal) or immediately get him inside or he’s gone.

I’d heard that tui were the assholes of the bird world, but living out here I truely understand now. They’re always just picking fights! And not letting the other fellas disengage! Just tarps off all day erry day

Very jealous I couldn’t make it this year 👀

Whether you have been coming since we were Kiwicon, or are a hacker con newbie, there's probs new stuff happening around the venue that you haven't heard of.

Take a look! 🧵

Anyone got recommendations for NZ based ceramics artists who do home goods like door stops or garden decorations?

I over indexed on ceramics artists for kitchens or indoor ornaments and I’m starting to want whimsy elsewhere 👀

If a tradie came last Wednesday, and said they’d get the quote to me in the next day or two, and I’m still waiting on the quote… at what point should I prompt them?

I don’t wanna nag, it’s not urgent, but I’m curious and worry I will forget and he will forget relevant context for the quote.

Go get your measles vaccine if you need it.

Does anyone know how to get an antibody test to find out if you need a top up?
Measles outbreak update.

Periodic reminder that if you're in my age cohort (early 40s) you may have only had one MMR jab at intermediate, not the two needed to be fully protected. If you're uncertain book in a measles vaccine ASAP.
