I want to correct one thing in this post. Winds we've never confirmed with a Dropsonde. There is a Barrow Island storm in the records that had 253 mph at the surface.
Y'all. I knew that Hurricane Melissa was strong, but DANG. It was produced the strongest wind measurement EVER recorded by Hurricane Hunter dropsondes. 252 MPH wind gust. This storm literally produced winds we've never confirmed before in a storm. This My discucssion

I want to correct one thing in this post. Winds we've never confirmed with a Dropsonde. There is a Barrow Island storm in the records that had 253 mph at the surface.

Definitely caught faint aurora but only through camera....Mag 4 Geomagnetic storm. Didn't think I would see them this far south ever. Seen them twice in last 2 years...
